Gala Dinner 2025

The 2025 Spanish Chamber Gala Dinner was held at The Langham Hotel, Hong Kong on Thursday, 27 November 2025. This year’s Gala was a meaningful gathering that reflected the strength, compassion and unity of our community.

The Gaudí Gala’s theme paid tribute to our greatest architect Antoni Gaudí on the centenary of his death in 1926. The evening brought together our members and friends of the Chamber for an unforgettable night of elegance, passion and connection.

We were honoured by the presence of Mr Aguirre de Cárcer, Consul General of Spain, Mr Javier Serra Guevara, Trade Commissioner of Spain in Hong Kong and Macau, and Ms Marisa Flores, President of the Spanish Chamber, along with leaders from the Spanish and local business community.

The evening began with a solemn minute of silence in remembrance of the victims and those affected by the devastating tragedy at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po. This moment of collective reflection set a tone of empathy and solidarity.

In her main address, President Marisa Flores highlighted the Chamber’s growth in 2025, acknowledged the dedication of the outgoing Board of Directors and welcomed the incoming 2026 to 2027 Board of Directors.

The Consul General of Spain highlighted the recent visit of the King and Queen of Spain to China and the Chamber’s role in strengthening bilateral relations. He thanked the outgoing directors and congratulated the newly elected Board.

Vice President Ms Elena Martínez van Hofwegen presented the Golden Abacus Award to Leighton Asia, recognising their five decades of leadership in their sector and their dedication to strengthening the Spanish business community.

Our sincerest gratitude to the sponsors who made the evening possible. Platinum Sponsor: Santander. Golden Sponsors: BBVA and ACCIONA. Silver Sponsor: DBS Bank. Table Sponsors: Essencia Flamenca, Techlam and Leighton Asia. Supporting Sponsors: Airwallex, Global Exchange Group and TIBA.

Guests enjoyed a bespoke Spanish menu curated by chefs Edgard Sanuy Barahona from Pica Pica, Chef Álex Fargas from La Paloma and Chef Javier Pérez from Rústico.
